Welcome to beautiful Northeast Oregon! Over 2,100 people live within the city limits of Union. Union is 15 miles southeast of La Grande via Highway 203, 15 miles northeast of North Powder via Highway 237, and 35 miles north of Baker City via Highway 237. The city enjoys a scenic location on the banks of Catherine Creek.

Union has a moderate climate, with average temperatures ranging from a 24-degree low in January to an 84-degree high in July. The frost-free growing season is 117 days, average annual precipitation is 26 inches, average snowfall is up to 28 inches, and the altitude is a pleasant 2,769 feet.
